History

Junction Arts was founded thirty one years ago as 'Junction 28’, a community arts project working in the parishes of South Normanton and Pinxton.

In 1983, 'Junction 28' became a registered charity. In 1993, in partnership with Bolsover District Council, we extended our work to serve the whole of the 14 parish district and "Junction Arts" was born.

In 2004, Junction Arts was awarded ‘national participatory arts flagship organisation’ status by Arts Council England.

“Over the last three years we have created some of our most innovative and contemporary work, primarily in creative teaching and learning, a key focus in the regeneration of the district The commitment of partners has been critical, particularly with schools, local authorities and our newest partner, Creative Partnerships”. Tina Glover, CEO, Junction Arts
